Property Tax
On completion of contract a government tax is payable.  In Bulgaria both buyer and seller are liable for this tax - currently this is 2% of the purchase price.

Deposit Payments
It is necessary to pay a 10% deposit in order to secure a property and enable preliminary contracts to be drawn up. You may wish to consider the need to do this whilst on your viewing trip, as properties are selling rapidly.

Deposits will be refunded if purchases cannot proceed due to discrepancies in title, or other, documents. They would not be refunded should you change your mind.

Local Taxes
In the UK, and any other country, owning a property brings government taxes such as our council tax. These are currently around GBP100 per annum. For your convenience Bulgarian Homes can organise payment of these in your absence as an optional extra.

Company Accounts
It will be necessary to submit company accounts to the local tax office, Bulgarian Homes can arrange this for you.

Credit Cards
At the moment credit cards are not widely used in Bulgaria, and where they are accepted, a charge of around 5% is levied. It is therefore advisable to use cash as an alternative.

Resale of Property
Bulgarian homes would be happy to resell any property for you if requested.
